Childhood Portraits
These portrait sessions capture the magic of childhood. Whether you want portraits in vivid color or timeless black-and-white, Julia will capture your child's personality -- all of it! Julia is known as the "fun kid photographer." You will not find her standing in one spot for 15 minutes clicking a shutter. Instead, Julia is more likely to be running, chasing, crawling, or even climbing a tree in order to capture the action.

In general, Julia recommends that toddler sessions take place on location (your home or a favorite park). This is because, if you haven't figured it out yet, it's impossible to capture a toddler's personality by having him sit in one spot and cheese for the camera.

For older children, either a studio or location session works well depending on the style of portraits you envision. Be aware that we can capture both timeless, classic, traditional portraits as well as more modern/contemporary portraits both in studio and on location. Our studio has an outdoor area with a portrait garden that makes for lovely portraits.

Clothing should generally be kept simple, with solid colors; however, Julia enjoys capturing the fun side of kids as well, so feel free to bring a more colorful, funky or fashion-forward outfit to showcase their more hip side. We can also have fun with tutus, fireman uniforms, overalls, cowboy hats, fairy wings (I will bring the magic wand!), or anything else that captures your imagination.
